About This Archive

This collection includes over 7,500 images and videos of Black American soldiers who served during World War II. The materials document their experiences, contributions, and challenges during a pivotal time in American and world history.

These materials have been collected during my research for books on Black American military units including the 614th Tank Destroyer Battalion, the 452nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, and other units that made significant but often overlooked contributions to the Allied victory.
